LOS ANGELES (FinalCall.com) - As the national fight against police brutality heightened its momentum with a call by the October 22nd Coalition for the Eleventh Annual National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation this past October, activists charged that police violence against primarily communities of color has increased and their victims or prey, have become younger and younger.
With its Stolen Lives Project, the October 22nd Coalition continues to document the lives stolen by police violence that have since been obscured in the minds of the public.
It cites 12-year-old Virginia Verdee, run over and killed by Bronx police; 15-year-old Brandon McCloud, shot by Cleveland police on his way to school; 18-year-old Samson Bounthisane, shot and killed by Seattle sheriff’s deputies; 12-year-old Michale Ellerbee, shot in the back by Pittsburgh police and thousands more.

In September of 2000, I was attending a lounge in downtown St. Louis when a man who identified himself as Bill from the Italian Mafia approached me. He began to reveal private facts about my life, friends, and family. After telling the man to leave me alone, he arrived at my front door the next morning holding a gun in his hand. When I called the police via a 911 phone call, they arrived at my door in 5 minutes. To my dismay however, despite identifying the man to the police and telling the officer he had a gun and was threatening me, the St. Louis County police officer neglected to arrest him. Instead, he got in his police car and drove away from the scene. When I redialed 911 to complain of the man who came back to my front door holding a gun since the police officer suddenly left the scene, the dispatch officer said the officer should come back to my house. Unfortunately he didn't come back at all.
For the next 2 weeks I was repeatedly stalked by Bill and his counterpart gang members who alleged they were in the Italian Mafia. Although they eventually left, they told me they intended to continue harassing and stalking me until a time when they felt that my punishment for not complying with their demands would be over. Since the initial incident in September 2000, several 911 phone calls were made to the police and FBI to complain of the gang members stalking, harassing, and torturing me. To my consternation, despite the severity of my complaint, the police and FBI failed to help me. Consequently, I was repeatedly threatened with my life and the lives of others on a daily basis. I was also sleep deprived and publicly humiliated when I attempted to associate with friends and loved ones. Apparently, the motive for the stalking and harassment was caused by the gang's sociopathic obsession and desire to isolate, control, and prey on me, all the while facilitated by their perverse fascination with getting away with the malicioius threats and tortures caused by the police and FBI's failure to respond.
After 5 years of being stalked, threatened, and tortured, I was charged by the FBI for sending threatening communications to an unknown man in an act of desperation. When the case was brought before the judge, the FBI immediately alleged that I was mentally ill for believing I was stalked by the Mafia. Although the charges were dismissed, in lieu of FBI threats to have me incarcerated and thrown in a mental institution for several years for the charges they threatened to reissue if I complained, I gathered evidence to corroborate my claim that I was being stalked. My evidence included a bug sweep of my house conducted by me and a private investigator to prove I was being peeped on by individuals who planted illegal communication devices (a $10,000 per day offense), recordings of death threats and harassing threats left on my phone, pictures of the vandalism done to my house related to the stalking, and witnesses who testified to the harassment. Notwithstanding the body of evidence that strongly suggested probable cause to open an investigation for the stalking, harassment, and torture, the police refused to help me and hung up the phone on me when I attempted to initiate contact with them. To make matters worse, when I complained to the FBI about the police, they denied that stalking was an FBI matter (despite the fact that it happened in multiple states, which constitutes a federal offense), and they threatened to throw me in jail for "harassing" them.
As a result of the police and FBI's refusal to open an investigation, I continue to be a victim of the harassment and stalking. To make matters worse, every time I consult with a civil rights attorney to seek help, they fear the Mafia and refuse to represent me. As such, I am forced to take up a civil rights suit in a court of law and represent myself. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to pursue an action in a court of law to seek redemption for the pain and suffering caused by police and FBI and to ward off my stalkers. To my misfortune however, I was recently told that civil complaints are only for individuals seeking monetary damages and that criminal complaints are not actionable by private citizens. The state and federal governments are the only parties allowed to pursue criminal matters that involve jail time for individuals harassing and torturing others. As such, it seems that the stalking will continue forever, or at least until a time when my efforts render me dead and gone. :(
